Steve was born in Mallorca, Spain, and grew up quite literally in hotels—first in Spain, where his parents ran a hotel, and later in Miami Beach, where he lived in another while attending middle and high school. After graduating from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, he spent a decade working on Wall Street before being drawn back into the family hospitality business.

A friend’s wedding in the Catskills sparked a deeper connection to the region, and after the Covid-19 pandemic, Steve made the move full-time, realizing a long-held dream of owning and running a mountain retreat. Branches reflects his lifelong relationship with hospitality and his belief that the best stays are built around people, place, and connection.
